OREGON SYNOD ASSEMBLY
The Oregon Synod will meet in Assembly May 30-June 1 at the Red Lion Hotel at Jantzen Beach in Portland. The theme is God’s Work. Our Hands. In attendance from First Immanuel will be voting members Todd Matthias and Joan Pendergast, along with Pastors Aaron Couch and Melinda Wagner. We look forward to seeing members from sister congregations, as well as our new Bishop Dave Brauer-Rieke. The featured speaker will be Rev. Ruben Duran, Director for Development of New Congregations in the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). Also highlighted will be the Book of Faith initiative, encouraging biblical reading in congregations. We ask your prayers for this leadership body in its worship, learning, business, and fellowship.
