weekly scripture reflection
When God reached out in love to the human family, it was not as a merely spiritual presence, but fully human, fully embodied in the life of Jesus. And raised from the dead, Jesus was fully embodied—he could be seen and touched, he could eat! Living in a culture full of shame and self-loathing for any bodily “imperfections,” we trust that God loves flesh and blood human beings—of every size, shape, age, skin color, gender and ability.
How does God’s love for flesh and blood challenge our culture’s attitudes about “perfect” bodies?
When have you experienced Christ’s appearance in flesh and blood as a sign of grace and acceptance?
You're invited to make a sacred space in your day, praying here and now, with the help of scripture chosen every day and on-screen guidance.
