Luke 2:22-40
Dear Friends, Simeon and Anna represent all the faithful people of God who have been watching and waiting to welcome the fulfillment of God’s promises. They have kept the faith, and now see in Jesus the next movement in God’s work to bring healing and salvation to God’s world. For them, it is certain they will not live long enough to witness how Jesus will grow up to embody God’s love for the world, but it is enough to know that God is true to God’s people and God’s promises. Looking ahead to a new year, in what ways are you available for God’s purposes? When have you recognized the need to trust God’s faithfulness for the future?
