weekly scripture reflection
John the Baptist had harsh words for those who were content with the status quo. He summoned them to a change of mind and heart, to long for God to renew and restore the human family. Such a change of mind and heart is better known as “repentance.” John called his listeners to change the direction of their lives, turning away from attitudes and actions that cause harm to self and neighbors, turning toward practices of justice and compassion.
When have you needed a new direction in life?
